Jan 13 - 29, 2013
Su - Crock pot Lasagna with cabbage leaves instead of noodles. The cabbage leaves were good. Unfortunately, I cooked it on high instead of low and the cheese separate. Still tasted OK, but not great. Cook the lasagna on low for 4 hours or so.
M - Shrimp and Asparagus Risotto finally! It was super tasty. This site will teach you how to make risotto.
T - Taco on doritos
W - Thin crust frozen pizza

Sa - BLT Pasta Bake - This is a Rachel Ray 30 minute meal with bacon, leek, and tomato with a gueuerre sauce. I make half the sauce and next time will put twice the tomatoes. I didn't bake it at the end. I didn't need to clean another pan. The sauce has mustard so I used the spicy stuff Dave got for Christmas.

Su - Hummus, carrots, celery, green peppers, and ham. I make hummus so often that I treat is like one of our reactions in lab. I put the "reagents" on a post-it note and place it on the inside of my cabinet. I don't need directions anymore just quantities.
M - Pesto tilapia, Trader Joe's sweet potato fries, roasted brussel sprouts (with cut up bacon sprinkled on top before cooking, and no refined sugar baked apples. Next time with the baked apples mix the oats and syrup, and cinnamon together before putting on the apple.
T - Pasta and meatballs.
W - Frozen Pizza

In the past week I also made my own yogurt. It is really easy. I used this method. The second half gallon I strained through a dishcloth to make thicker "Greek" style. I guess it is actually called yogurt cheese if you aren't Greek. There is no sugar added. Dave did add some Equal to the one he took to work today, so I may have to add some Stevia to his. I like this brand of Stevia so far.
